Help that matches the app

The six sections below follow the 35 questions available in TinyLore. Answers reflect the local-first journal, ZIP export, device backups, media privacy and current Free/Pro rules.

Getting Started

What is TinyLore?

A gentle journal for the little things only you understand about your pet: their signals, the rituals you share and the moments worth keeping. It's yours to fill in. TinyLore doesn't translate or diagnose.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There's nothing to sign up for or sign in to. Everything stays in the app on your device.

How do I add my pet, or change their details?

Your first pet is added right after the intro with “Add my pet”; a name is enough to begin. To change details later, go to Profile and tap the edit button on your pet's card. To add another pet, use Profile → “Add another pet”. More than one pet needs TinyLore Pro.

How can I switch between pets?

Tap your pet's name on Home, or use Profile → “Switch pet” when you have more than one. Every tab then shows the pet you picked, and TinyLore remembers your choice.

Can I change TinyLore's language?

Yes. Go to Profile → “App language” and choose English or Türkçe, or “System” to follow your phone.

Signals, Rituals & Memories

What's a signal, and what's an observation?

A signal is something your pet does that means something to you, like a paw tap or a slow blink, together with what you think it means. An observation is each time you saw it, with its date and time and an optional context and note. One signal gathers many observations.

How do I record seeing a signal again?

Open the signal and tap “Saw this again”. Choose when it happened, add where or when and a note if you like, then tap “Save”. You can tap “Undo” straight after.

Can I change an observation's date or note?

Yes. In the signal, tap the observation under “Observations” to change its date, time, contexts or note, or to delete it. A signal always keeps at least one observation; to remove the last one, delete the signal.

What are contexts?

Contexts note where or when something happened, like “Window”, “Morning” or “Before sleep”. Pick any that fit, or tap “Add” to make your own. Long-press one you added to remove it.

What's the difference between a ritual and a moment?

A ritual is something you always do together, like morning window time. A moment is a single story worth keeping, like their first day home. You'll find both in Memories.

Can I edit or delete a record?

Yes. Open a signal, ritual or moment and tap “Edit”. Rituals and moments have a delete button at the top; a signal's delete button is on its edit screen. Deleting can't be undone.

What happens when I delete a pet?

Switch to that pet, open “Edit profile” and tap the delete button. Their profile and every signal, observation, ritual, moment and photo saved for them are removed from TinyLore. Your other pets aren't affected, and this can't be undone.

Little Things & Insights

What are Little Things questions?

Gentle questions that help you notice small details, like what your pet does right before falling asleep. Tap “Answer” on Home and keep your answer as a signal, a ritual or a moment. “Explore questions” shows the whole collection.

Do I have to answer every day? Can I skip one?

No, there's no streak and nothing to keep up with. “Another question” shows a different one, and the close button (“Not now”) rests the card until another day.

How are insights calculated?

They're simple counts of what you've recorded: which signal you logged most, which contexts you picked and at what time of day. Advanced Insights (TinyLore Pro) also compare the last 30 days with the 30 before. They show what you noticed and wrote down, not how often something really happened.

Why are some insights unavailable or empty?

Some appear only once there are enough observations; for example, contexts are compared from 5 observations in the last 90 days. They fill in as you keep noticing, at your own pace. Advanced Insights need TinyLore Pro.

Does TinyLore understand or diagnose my pet?

No. TinyLore doesn't translate sounds, read emotions or assess health; everything it shows comes from your own notes. If a behaviour is new or worrying, or comes with physical symptoms, please talk to a veterinarian.

Media & Sharing

How do I add a photo, video or sound?

While adding or editing a signal, observation, ritual, moment or your pet's profile, use the photo, video or sound options and choose from your phone's library. Sounds can be recorded for signals and observations, up to 60 seconds. TinyLore doesn't open the camera, so take the photo with your camera app first.

Why can't I record a sound or select media?

Microphone access may be off: turn it on for TinyLore in your phone's Settings. If a photo or video won't load, make sure it's on your phone and not only in the cloud, then try again.

Why isn't an attachment playing?

If TinyLore says “This attachment can't be opened”, the file may have been damaged or not fully copied when it was saved. Edit the item, remove the attachment and add it again.

How do I create and share a card?

Tap the share button on a signal, on Language, on your rituals in Memories, or on your pet's card in Profile. Choose “Story” or “Post”, turn “Include photo” on or off, then tap “Share image”.

Does sharing include hidden location information?

No. A share card is a newly drawn image with only what you see on it, without photo details such as location. New photos are stored without details such as location where TinyLore can remove them; videos, some photo formats and older photos may still keep their original details, also in their copies in “Export Your Data”.

TinyLore Pro

What's free, and what does TinyLore Pro add?

Free includes one editable pet profile, unlimited signals, observations, rituals and moments with photos, videos and sounds, basic insights, 24 everyday questions and every share card, with no ads. TinyLore Pro adds unlimited pet profiles, Advanced Insights and 24 special questions.

Is TinyLore Pro a subscription?

No. It's a one-time purchase that doesn't renew. The price shown comes from the App Store or Google Play.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open Profile → TinyLore Pro and tap “Restore Purchase”, signed in to the store account you bought with. Restoring brings back Pro, not your pet records.

Can I use the same purchase on iPhone and Android?

Pro restores on devices signed in to the same store account. A purchase made on iPhone doesn't move to Android, or the other way round.

Why is my purchase pending, or Pro still locked?

If TinyLore says your purchase is waiting for approval, the store hasn't finished it yet, for example with Ask to Buy. If it couldn't confirm your purchase, it tries again when you come back to the app or open the Pro screen. Still locked? Make sure you're online, try “Restore Purchase”, and write to us if that doesn't help.

What happens to my records if Pro access ends?

Nothing is deleted. One pet stays editable; the others can still be viewed, shared and deleted, but not changed. Advanced Insights and new special questions close until Pro is active again.

Privacy, Data & Troubleshooting

Where is my information stored? Can AEE Studio see it?

On your device, inside TinyLore. AEE Studio doesn't receive your records and can't see them, unless you choose to send something to us by email.

Are my records backed up automatically?

TinyLore has no backup or sync of its own. Your phone's backup (iCloud, or Google on Android) can include TinyLore's records and photos, depending on your settings, but we can't promise it brings everything back. On Android, if TinyLore's data is larger than the space Google gives each app's backup (about 25 MB, easily reached with photos and videos), that backup may leave TinyLore out. Pro isn't part of these backups; “Restore Purchase” brings it back. “Export Your Data” saves a copy you can keep, not a backup TinyLore can restore.

What happens when I change phones?

TinyLore doesn't move your records to a new phone. They come along only if your phone's own transfer or backup brings app data with it, which we can't guarantee, and moving between iPhone and Android doesn't bring them. Before you switch, check your phone's backup or transfer settings and save a copy with “Export Your Data” somewhere you trust; TinyLore can't import that copy yet. “Restore Purchase” brings back Pro on the same store platform, not your records.

Can I export my data?

Yes. In Profile → Privacy & Data, “Export Your Data” saves all your pets' records, photos, videos and sounds as one ZIP file you can keep or share. The file isn't encrypted, photos and videos are copied as TinyLore stores them (so videos and older photos may still include details such as where they were taken), and TinyLore can't import it back yet.

How do I delete my records? Can they be recovered?

Delete single records from their own screens, a whole pet from “Edit profile”, or everything by deleting each pet or uninstalling TinyLore. Uninstalling removes TinyLore's records and photos from the phone. AEE Studio can't recover deleted records. Rarely, a file whose deletion failed earlier may stay in TinyLore's storage on the phone; it isn't shown or exported. Device backups and copies you've saved or shared aren't affected.

What should I do if the app doesn't work as expected?

Close and reopen TinyLore, and check that it's up to date. If a screen says something went wrong, tap “Try again”. If the problem stays, write to us with what happened and the steps that lead to it.

How can I contact AEE Studio?

Use the contact card at the bottom of this page. Please don't send passwords, payment details or private photos unless they're really needed to solve the problem.

TinyLore can't open my journal — what should I do?

If TinyLore says it couldn't open your journal, it hasn't deleted your records. Try closing and reopening the app. If the problem continues, contact us before reinstalling or clearing app data.
